Relationship with Brazil
Brazil is one of the largest countries in South America and it is among the rapidly developing countries. It is the only country that has Portuguese as their national language. It has grown from a country that used to be a creditor to other countries into being a benefactor. It has also developed from a country that used to suffer from economic inflation to a country that is positive in macroeconomic strategy. Brazil has the Ministry of External Relations whose main objective is to manage its foreign relations (Smith, 2010). The foreign policy has mainly been made to help in protecting the countries national interests and economic growth. Hence, in order to increase or create the relationship with Brazil, I would advice the President of the United States to find opportunities that will increase investments and trade between the two countries in order to increase business opportunity that leads to economic development of both countries.
In order to achieve all these, I would advice the president to create a partnership with Brazil, as well as other emerging economies such as Russia, and China, in order to encourage local and international economic growth. This would also improve on common addition goals that include addressing and discussing international financial crisis and trade liberalization in order to promote better joint effort in developments such as economic cooperation and development. Since Brazil has new deep-water oil and reserves on natural gas, I would also advice the president to create the conditions that highlight the importance of a deliberate treaty. The United States and Brazil have common goals of nurturing hemispheric dependability and integration, promoting social equality and human rights and preventing international illegal activity (Smith, 2010). Hence, I would advice the president to develop a relationship that enhances both nations’ foreign plans.
I would advice the president about the unit of international support, which helps in uplifting each other by giving advice through team meetings that enables countries to be aware of the ongoing projects. In addition, the range of international relationship, with other cities enables a country to benefit from the knowledge of the merging of the other cities and exchanging views and concerns about many diverse arrangements (Smith, 2010). In addition, the existence of large number of departments that hinder communication, makes it difficult for people to be updated on various schemes and projects, hence the decision-making is slow. Therefore, it will be of great help if the city will develop the unit of international cooperation.
The president should also concentrate on expanding his state association and relations with Brazil. I would advice the president to extend the partnership with other neighboring nations. This is due to the increased world trade that has made internationalization a basic requirement for continued existence. A delay would lead to lack of understanding, miscommunications and poor management, which in the past have been caused by language barrier between countries. This can be avoided when people are made aware of other people’s cultures hence enhancing knowledge of international intercultural communication is important.
