Readings
In Damon, Chapter 4, "Socialization in the Family: Ethnic and Ecological Perspectives" pages 95–128. This chapter shows how family plays a crucial and central role in the socialization process. Conversely, it emphasizes how this role has undergone dramatic change during the past several decades. As you read the chapter, think of ways that the changing ecologies of families of different ethnic background are modifying the socializations of families.
