Background
The provision of effective and fruitful feedback to staff on workplace job performance (including feedback on how work outputs are being effectively delivered and feedback on how performance and work outputs could be improved) is an essential management and leadership skill. It is one that an effective HR professional needs to have as part of their HR and leadership toolkit.
As a line manager, employee and/or human resource practitioner you are often required to provide feedback to staff (including peers) on workplace performance. This may be by undertaking formal performance review and development sessions, performance counselling and/or performance coaching situations. This assignment provides you with the opportunity to further enhance your feedback skills repertoire.
Assignment
You are required to write an essay that critically analyses the best ways, and shortfalls of the process of Performance Feedback and the various ways you can manage results. This analysis should include how you would enhance your performance feedback skills. The workshop will provide you with a useful forum for both developing and broadening these skills. You may wish to use the material covered in the workshop as a mechanism to examine the enhancement of your feedback skills or you may wish to examine a relevant workplace scenario that can be analysed as an example. Please also use your own ideas and preferences to what you think you would do and why, and back that thinking up with links to theory.
