Choose two New Religious / Non-Covered Movements from the list on the next page.
You will create two separate documents for this assignment; one for each of the Movements. Each movement will count for 20 points. Yes you can do additional movements.
For the first movement you chose:
1. Write a paragraph sharing very general information about the movement that you chose. You may use ANY online or offline resource for your information.
2. Looking at the types of Movements (ie Reactive, Fundamentalist, etc) that you will be getting in-class explain what you would classify the movement as and why. You should be able to choose multiple types in your explanation. Be sure to be specific as to why you feel that the religious/spiritual/cultural group fits into the type of movement.
3. Theorize and write what you think the challenges were that led to the creation of the group (this continues from the type of movement).
4. Theorize and write what you think the challenges may be that lead to people choosing this movement as part of their religious/spiritual/ethical life.
5. This part of the assignment is NOT likely to be found online and does require you to read the types of movement’s page and think!
For the second movement you chose:
