Assignment

For this task, you will prepare a PowerPoint presentation of key figures in the prehistory of psychology (from 300 BC to 1888 AD). Your target audience for this presentation will be students in an undergraduate history of psychology course.

Begin by selecting two individuals from the following list:

• Plato (429?–347 B.C.E.)
• Aristotle (384 – 322 B.C.)
• Hippocrates (460-375 B.C.)
Next, select three individuals from the following list:

• Franz Mesmer (May 23, 1734 – March 5, 1815)

• Phillipe Pinel (1775-1826)

• Franz Josef Gall (1758-1828)

• Johann Lavater (1741-1801)

• John Locke (1632-1704

• John Stuart Mill (1806-1873)

• Paul Broca (1804-1888)

Once you have selected your historical figures, you will provide a brief overview of each of the person’s contributions to the understanding of human behavior. Begin your research search in the NCU library.

Incorporate appropriate animations, transitions, and graphics as well as “speaker notes” for each slide. The speaker notes may be comprised of brief paragraphs or bulleted lists.

Support your presentation with at least three scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources may be included.

Length: 12-15 slides (with a separate reference slide)

Notes Length: 100-150 words for each slide

Be sure to include citations for quotations and paraphrases with references in APA format and style where appropriate. Save the file as PPT with the correct course code information.
