Interlocutors Discussion of Moral Theories

Overview
You will write a 1,200-word dialogue between two interlocutors (Links to an external site.) discussing which of the moral theories we’ve covered in class is the most viable. You may pick 2 of the following:

Hedonism
Utilitarianism
Ethical Egoism
Deontology
Virtue Ethics
Divine Command Theory
Natural Law Theory
Natural Rights
Care Ethics

You’ll need to make sure your dialogue covers the following for each of the theories:
sketch of the theory (how it works)
example that showcases the theory in action
strengths of the approach
possible problems with taking up the approach
judgement on whether or not the theory is ultimately workable (or broken)
Make sure to steer the end of the conversation towards your favored approach. However, one of the goals of this assignment is to showcase your ability to entertain and discuss multiple points of view.

NOTES: For more about writing a philosophic dialogue, see here: How to Write a How to write a Philosophy Dialogue.

For examples of philosophic dialogues, see the following:

Euthyphro – Dialogue between Socrates and Euthyphro, written by Socrates’ student, Plato.

The key thing is to craft a conversation between people who disagree with one another respectfully and through their conversation (imagine something like you and a good friend discussing these things at a bar, sipping lemonade) they probe the ins and outs of these ethical approaches.

I honestly do not care which of the ethical theories are chosen or the topic that the conversation is based around. I personally tend to lean more towards the Care Ethics or Virtue Theory, so it would be good if one of them is reflected probably just so it appears as though I wrote the paper. Children, adoption, foster care, empathy, conservative matters, and such are important to me so those could be some topics that may help

I didn’t notice the “how many sources” question, and I so I didn’t put anything into that area. I wanted to verify that whomever writes my paper sees that within the assignment directions, I MUST have citations within the paper.

Thank you! I apologize for that oversight.
