Women Leadreship

I need Two pages for each prompt and each prompt needs AT LEAST FIVE QOUTES total from one or both of these two books: Leadership from the Margins; Women and Civil Society Organizations in Argentina, Chile, and El Salvador By Serena Cosgrove and Hear My Testimony by Maria Teresa Tula

Those are the only two books allowed to be used in the short essays.

1 “Obviously, gender is not the sole factor that explains differences between the experiences of certain women and men because their lives– Especially their leadership styles, experiences and opportunities– are not determined just by gender roles. Rather actions and choices are informed by gender and other factors such as life events and circumstances, races, ethnicity, education, etc…” (Cosgrove, 14) Define the concept of intersectionality and describe how it affects the women’s loves and leadership styles whom we’ve been studying. How does intersectionality explain exclusion? How can it also explain commitment and leadership?

2 How did the civil war in El Salvador affect civil society organizing? Please describe major historical periods and how civil society organizations were treated; the compare and contrast this with how civil society organizations are responding in the post-war period. What role did/do women play in these movements?

3 “In Latin American History, women have assumed leadership roles in their families, communities, and even countries during periods of economic or political turmoil” (Cosgrove, 45). Considering the civil war and the current challenges facing El Salvador today, corroborate or challenge this assertion.

4 “A leader is someone who has ‘the ability to get things done,’ using status and influence to play a catalytic role motiving other to action” (Cosgrove, 23). “Experiences of injustice and marginalization affect how people lead…”(Cosgrove, 26). Please apply these two quotes to analyzing Maria Teresa Tula’s Leadership experiences.

5 Testimonial literature is often defined as a form of narrative literature in which we can simultaneously witness and participate in a marginalized person’s experience, hearing a collective voice that speaks to a plural subject ( i.e., Women, campesinos or farmers, human rights activist, indigenous women , union organizers) Citing examples from HEAR MY TESTIMONY, please describe both the advantages and limitations to using one person’s story to represent a group of people.

6 Reflecting on what you have learned about El Salvador, please explain how you would respond to a question if someone asked you to tell them who were ‘ the good guys’ and ‘the bad guys’ in the civil war. Your answer must include the steps you would follow to provide a nuanced response and the information you would share about the Salvadorian Civil War.
