Choose one of the readings from They Say, I Say or an essay from They Say, I Blog (www.theysayiblog.com) and write a strong response essay. Try to find an essay or article that you feel you have an interesting response to or that is about something that genuinely interests you. While your response essay can incorporate some elements of a reflection paper, it should focus more on critiquing the author\’s rhetorical strategies and/or ideas.

Your essay should include a 150-250 word summary of your chosen text, and it should feature the key characteristics of closed-form prose: an explicit thesis, unified and coherent paragraphs with topic sentences, and transitions between sentences and paragraphs. As you work with ideas from the text, remember to use signal phrases, quotation marks for any quoted passages, and MLA documentation to distinguish your own points about the text from the author’s ideas and language.

Your essay should be 900-1,200 words (three to four pages in length). It should be double-spaced and typed in 12-point Times New Roman font with one-inch margins on all sides. (Please be sure to submit your essay as a .doc, .docx, or .rtf file.) You are welcome to refer to sources other than the essay you\’re responding to (though this is optional), but your sources should be properly documented according to MLA standards.

I really messed up the MLA format so if you could fix it up that would be great.
