Statistic Assignment (terrorism)

Increased terrorism worldwide has caused many law enforcement agencies to push for increased profiling, which possibly catches terrorists quicker. Many people feel, however, that this is a violation of our civil liberties. Previously, using only passive methods of surveillance, it took an average of 12.35 weeks to apprehend terrorists worldwide. A computer–based profiling study was conducted on 16 randomly selected suspected terrorists. Using this system over the next year, it took an average of 8.7 weeks to apprehend them (with a sample standard deviation of 3.86 weeks). Test the claim that the average time taken using the computer-based profiling method is less than the average time using passive methods. (Use α = 0.05).Show all steps and work. Use either Excel or Word. Use both the traditional (5 step) method and the p-value method.
