Philosophies of Community Development

This philosophy will state your viewpoints/beliefs primarily regarding your role as a citizen in relation to community development, capacity building and active citizen engagement and secondarily within your role as an ECE professional (consider children, families and colleagues, community and society).

Viewpoints are built on previous experiences (community work), exposure to the experience (involvement in that community work) and knowledge of others (having worked with diverse group of people). The key is how you integrate these viewpoints into your own framework, supported through referencing course content and research) that imparts your groups signature on the philosophy that you will follow when working in various early learning and care communities.

Your opinions/viewpoints must be supported by current research and course content. In addition to class readings; you must use a minimum of 5 additional resources beyond course content.

Follow APA formatting for the paper (referencing, citations, margins, font, double-spaced, single-sided, title page, etc.). Students are expected to convey ideas/information in their own words and cite appropriately. Please identify the students name(s) who authored each section.
