https://www.capitol.state.tx.us/BillLookup/History.aspx?LegSess=85R&Bill=HB3859) that prioritizes providers over kids in the child welfare system by allowing an adult involved in child welfare to claim religious freedom as a reason to not provide services. It\’s largely aimed at allowing those groups who oppose abortion or same sex marriage to refuse care to kids or discriminate against couples. Private agencies have this right, but we believe if you contract with the state and take public dollars you should not be able to discriminate.
