Adverse Trend and Data Management in Hospital
The purpose of the flow chart is to evaluate the adverse trend and data management in hospitals. To enhance quality health care, this research establishes the need to evaluate how patients receive medical care and further access whether the medication given to them is suitable for the immediate illness. The above flow chart provides different technologies that would help in gathering the required information.
To articulate the trend in question, it would be vital to evaluate patients’ health care both in the past and after medication. To gather adequate results, the research would assess whether patients receive adequate support that fosters their well-being. This would lay a strong ground to comprehend areas that need improvement in the health care sector. To gather complaints and compliments, this research would interview patients in the hospital to find out the services they acquire. In so doing, the research would obtain areas that require immediate intervention. To gather the intended results, there would be questionnaires to patients such as the type of illness, medication provided, complaints received, and whether heath care providers are supportive in improving patients’ well-being. The feedbacks on these questions would help to evaluate patients’ satisfaction and the nursing care given to patients.
The research would also access patients’ health since they visited the hospital, by accessing the patients’ medical records both in the past and in present. The analysis would determine whether healthcare providers are providing the best services that enhance healing. Typically, it would be vital to evaluate areas that need improvement in the hospital. In this case, it would be vital to access how healthcare providers treat patients, treatment used, and the skills used. This would ensure that healthcare providers are treating patients as per the standards set in the health sector. Specifically, it would ensure that only experts who have adequate skills in the medical sector treat patients.
Data collection
To attain a comprehensive study, this research would gather adequate information on the subject. At this point, the research would utilize information collected by past researchers and experts in the health care sector. Specifically, the research would thoroughly investigate factors that hinder quality care and what needs to be done to enhance effectiveness and efficiency care. To gather valid results from the setting, I would interview patients in the hospital to determine whether the hospital is working hard to promote quality care. In essence, the validity of data would express the views and thoughts of what is going on in the hospital. For validity, the research would embrace the thoughts and views of the majority.
Data Collection Method
I would utilize interviews to gather the required information. The research would collect interviews from patients in person, telephone, or email. The interviews would be open ended for patients to express their thoughts and views about the subject.
Technology Used
To conduct a successful research, the research would utilize various technological tools to gather the required information. As highlighted in the flow chart, the technological tools include electronic health records, mobile technology, computers, surveillance cameras, and CCTV. As indicated, I would utilize electronic health records and mobile technology to access patients’ care. Mobile technological tools include internet devices that are wireless or portable. Mobile technology would help to gather information from patients on how the hospital improves their well-being (Goldstein, 2006). It would allow effective communication in the clinical setting, thus in a better position to gather adequate findings from patients and stuffs. Mobile technology would further enhance efficiency and quality care as healthcare providers would have a chance to exchange medical information. Electronic records would evaluate the past and present patients’ information. For instance, the information stored in the computer would ensure whether or not patients are receiving adequate care. The use of electronic records would improve work efficiency since healthcare providers would have adequate time with patients without having to waste time accessing or retrieving information. Additionally, computers would help the hospital to compile patients’ medical history. Confidentiality and privacy are the major legal issues surrounding electronic records and mobile technology. As per medical standards, healthcare providers should not disclose patients’ information without patients’ consent (Tzeng & Yin, 2009). The use of passwords assists in keeping confidentiality.
The research would utilize surveillance cameras and CCTV to monitor how the hospital conducts its daily activities. The technology would gather information of how doctors treat patients. The ethical and legal issue surrounding this technology is that, it has the ability to unveil the unknown and withheld information. Hospitals should use this technology to access activities taking place on a daily basis as argued by Pham, Coughlan & O’Malley (2006).
