Write an essay responding to the play “Death of a salesman.”

Write an essay in which ask and then answer an interpretive question about Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman Your interpretive question should be clear from the introduction (though it need not be in the form of a question—you may also describe it). Your thesis will provide an answer to the question, as well as forecast the organization of the rest of the paper. Use ample evidence in the form of analysis of quotations to support your interpretive points.

NOTES:

Introduce and identify the play and the focus of the essay in the introduction.

Employ a clear thesis statement that summarizes your interpretation and forecasts the organization of the essay.

Address an audience of readers that are familiar with the play but unfamiliar with your interpretation of it (in other words, you need not summarize the play).

Follows the conventions for writing about drama.

Organize the paper and each paragraph effectively, given the purpose and audience.

Foreground your ideas and interpretation as main points (topic sentences about the interpretation).

Show your critical thinking about the play by supporting your ideas and paragraphs with

Textual evidence in the form of quotations from the play to support interpretations, and

Explication (explanation of your reasoning—how you understand and interpret the evidence).

Use Standard Edited American English.

Follow MLA formatting conventions.

Compare and contrast the findings of the various studies on product-harm crisis.

How Do I Fix This? Managing a Product-Harm Crisis

Product-recalls have become increasingly commonplace in American media reports. Everything from food products to toys and cars have been recalled with increasing frequency in recent years. Some researchers predict the numbers will continue to rise as regulatory agencies and consumers alike become more vigilant about health and safety (Gunther 2010; Berman 1999).

A product-harm crisis, which often necessitates a product-recall, can have tremendous human and financial costs. For example, a 2010 case of salmonella-infected peanuts involved a massive recall effort involving 70 companies, 3,900 products, and approximately $1 billion in financial losses. It also made hundreds of people sick and caused 9 deaths (Gunther, 2010). No industry or brand—no matter how large or well known—is immune to the impact of such a crisis, as proven by Toyota’s over $2 billion loss stemming from a 2009 gas pedal recall (Isadore, 2010).

Given recent trends and the high-stakes consequences, businesses are interested in knowing what to expect in case of a product-harm crisis in terms of consumer and stock market reaction. Researchers continue to study what factors influence those reactions and hope to use their findings to build a viable product-harm crisis response strategy.

Does Hamlet ever become truly mad, or does he feign madness throughout the play, as he implies that he will to Horatio and Marcellus in act 1, scene 5?

Hamlet:
Does Hamlet ever become truly mad, or does he feign madness throughout the play, as he implies that he will to Horatio and Marcellus in act 1, scene 5? Later, even Polonius senses about Hamlet that “Though this be madness, yet there is method in’t” (2.2.203-04). Could one argue that Hamlet’s supposed “madness” actually represents his enactment of purpose on a higher plan of existence from the basic “reality” of the play? Consider making use of Stephen Greenblatt’s essays, “Shakespearean Tragedy” and “Hamlet”.

Your essay should be in the form of a well-reasoned argument (clearly-framed thesis statement developed by well-articulated points and supporting evidence) that makes specific use of the primary text as well as suggested secondary materials. You may, of course, bring other secondary sources into your writing, but be sure they are of high quality.
LENGTH, FORM, AND RELATED MATTERS
Four pages in length.
Because of space limitations, you should avoid using quotations that take up more than three lines or so (such brief quotations will be part of your text).
You will need a separate “Works Cited” page that includes, in proper MLA form, entries for the play and all other sources actually used in the paper.
The paper should have a content-specific title, one that includes the title of the play, Shakespeare’s name, and the general direction of the essay’s content. An ineffective title, because of its vagueness, would be something like “Richard’s Ambition” (Richard who? Ambition for what? What literary work?). A better title, because it is more specific, would be “The Erotic Nature of Richard’s Ambition in Shakespeare’s Richard III.”
All quotations must be introduced properly; that is, quotations must fit into your sentences both grammatically and syntactically. Provide context for each quotation from the primary text(s) and comment on their significance in terms of the point you are making.
Quotations from Shakespeare’s plays and other sources should be cited parenthetically (i.e., internally).

Describe American masculine self and identity homonationalism.

I need a roughly 1,000 words essay / essay outline that will eventually lead to a dissertation of 10,000 words. I am a Masters student on the field of Political Science, more specifically Public Policy albeit the dissertation itself will have lots of elements from sociology.

The topic is still formulating, but here are some ideas:

The dissertation –in a nutshell- will approach American identity, more specifically masculine identity (with a focus on gay identity) and self (but potentially relating it to feminity as well, so that we can then relate it back to masculinity) through the eyes of two popular American sit-coms starring the same actor, Ed O’Neill as the ‘father figure’. One is ‘Married with Children’, the other is ‘Modern Family’.

Is it OK to be gay nowadays as long as you’re part of a family? Gay people are included in pension, marriage etc. Gay people are part of it but they couldn’t critique our ways –so that could be a critical edge– they’re might be a modern family but still a family – social reproduction of a nation (gay people’s children grow up to become good bourgeoisie citizens contributing to the society as a whole). What about single lesbian/gay mothers/fathers? More communal set-ups? Gay muslims? (etc.) Are they excluded?

You learn to be a woman or man (for a long time we thought that women and men just happened to act a certain way, but now we know that it learnt also). But a man can wear a kilt or have long hair and still be man. A woman could be able to change tires on a car and still be a woman.) (Are gays disciplined as they don’t live up to the masculine hegemonic way?)

How being a man is discoursed in culture?

The two series come a long way but have they really? Have they taken seriously the queer critique of heterosexual life?

I can also talk about femininity (Claire from Modern Family – ‘wears the trousers’ – is that being portrayed in a funny way? Acceptable performance of masculinity/femininity?)

Engage with literature about masculinity, homonationalism, queer studies…

Relate it to politics somehow.

Qualitative research methodologies MUST be used. (and most likely post-positivist)

As you can see, the topic is still formulating, so here is what I need and IT IS IMPORTANT:

– A person who has knowledge of either public policy or sociology, both would be even greater.

– The person has to know about qualitative research methods. (post-positivist)

– A person who can write a Masters (post-graduate) level dissertation with quality that is required for an Ivy League institution.

– A person who has liberal views and is not homophobic.

– A person with interest in such studies/topics and is enthusiastic.

In return, I will try to be as much help as I can, providing books, readings, ideas, etc.

First I am just asking for an approximately 1,000 words draft either on homonationalism or concrete ideas about the entire dissertation over this weekend, preferably by Saturday. If we get along and are both up for it, then we can do the entire dissertation.

What information in the case study suggests that her asthma is not well controlled?

SE is a twenty-two-year-old Caucasian woman who was diagnosed with asthma at age seven. According to her medical record, she has “mild persistent” asthma. Today, she reports that she has been using her albuterol metered-dose inhaler (MDI) approximately three to four days per week over the last two months. Over the past week, she admits to using albuterol once daily. She has been awakened by a cough three nights during the last month. She states she especially becomes short of breath when she exercises. However, she also admits that the shortness of breath is not always brought on by exercise. She also has a fluticasone MDI, which she uses “most days of the week.” She has been hospitalized twice in the last year for poorly controlled asthma and has been to the emergency department (ED) three times in the last six months for the same problem. Her lab work is all within normal limits, with the exception of a positive human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG). Answer the following questions:
• What information in the case study suggests that her asthma is not well controlled?
• What factors could possibly lead to this?
• How would you classify the symptoms based upon the National Institutes of Health (NIH) guidelines?
• With the recognition that she is pregnant, how would you alter her treatment for asthma?
Support your responses with guidelines, including the NIH guidelines, for management of asthma during pregnancy. Use other peer-reviewed articles as needed to support specific aspects of your plan.

Write an argumentative essay either for or against surrogacy.

Use these Sources only
http://www.pbs.org/now/shows/538/index.html
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=127860111

Assignment Overview
Note: The Module 3 SLP should be completed before you begin this Module 3 Case.

After reflecting on “Surrogacy: Wombs For Rent,” “‘Google Baby’ Follows Birth Outsources to India,” and “Her Body, My Baby,” write a well-organized and well-supported essay either for or against surrogacy.

A well-organized essay has a beginning, middle, and an end. The beginning, or introduction, should include an opening sentence to grab your reader’s attention. Follow the opening sentence with a brief background on the topic or situation. In this case, it would be brief summary on surrogacy. The last sentence of the introduction is the thesis statement. The thesis states the main point of the essay, which in this case, would be a statement affirming the paper’s stance for or against surrogacy.

A well-supported essay includes supporting points, details, and examples. For this essay, you must decide the best way to organize the body of the paper. Will you have one or two paragraphs for each supporting point? Will you divide the body of your paper into three or more paragraphs, one for each point? In any case, each body paragraph must support (explain) your reasoning (rationale) using specific details. Each body paragraph must have a topic sentence that states the main point of the paragraph, which in this case would be each supporting point.

This essay must include no less than SIX citations from the required readings of Module 3 on surrogacy. Citations are to be a combination of direct quotations and paraphrased quotations with or without the author’s name. Quoting from the videos above may be only in addition to your two selected sources and field source.

The conclusion typically summarizes the main points of the essay and/or closes with a lasting impression that connects the reader to their world. In this case, where do we go from here?

The essay must also include a Reference List that includes the readings quoted in the essay.

Be sure to proofread your essay and edit for proper grammar, punctuation, diction (word choice), and spelling, as errors in sentence skills will lower a final grade. A grade will be determined based on the Module 3 Case expectations and the Trident University General Education rubric for English.

Papers must be double-spaced in Times or Times New Roman font (12 cpi) with standard one-inch margins.

The first person “I” is not used in a formal essay, nor is the passive “you.” In place of “you,” “one” may be used.

Assignment Expectations

Write an argumentative essay (no less than five pages in length) either for or against surrogacy.

Include an introductory paragraph with thesis statement.

Include body paragraphs (each with a topic sentence that states the point of the paragraph) that support the thesis through examples and details.

Include a conclusion that summarizes the main points of the essay.
Include no less than six citations in APA format taken from the assigned readings.

Include a Reference List for the sources used in the essay.
Proofread your essay for errors in grammar, diction (word choice), punctuation, and spelling.
