Come up with an argument of “Third-world” women and reproductive rights.

Issue: “Third-world” women and reproductive rights

Come up with an argument of this issue

This paper should have two parts 1) the abstract 2) annotated bibliography

The abstract
• 250-300 words
• The abstract should provide an overview of the argument your paper will make
• Should include 1) thesis statement or central argument 2) the main sections or supporting arguments 3) the evidence and sources you will use to support each argument
• An abstract is not the place for vague statements, should spell out your entire argument clearly

The annotated bibliography
• Five peer-reviewed sources (five bibliographies in total)
• Each bibliography entry should be 150-200 words
• One of which must be the article attached and the other four being sources you discover through research
• Use the annotated bibliography to show the research you’ve done and how it helps you to make your argument. That could take a number of forms, probably the most likely would be to begin with the article that serves as your main theoretical lens on the issue. You would summarize the relevant parts of the article and describe how it helps you make your argument. Then you might move on to another article that helps you develop your argument. This would be a second theoretical argument that you are going to use to supplement your argument. Perhaps it is a contrasting argument and you intent to write about two different ways of examining an issue. Following this, you will present articles that help you support this argument or provide empirical evidence. In each entry, you need to summarize the main points that apply to your argument.

Example of an abstract:

Throughout American history, African-Americans have endured racism through slavery and discriminatory laws. After the abolishment of Jim Crow segregation laws, one would expect African-Americans to slowly adjust and integrate themselves into American society. However, the recent rise in mass incarceration rates and the disproportionality of African Americans being imprisoned may indicate that there are forces at work that serve as an “exterior prison” (Wacquant, 2000). This exterior prison can be referred to as a barrier or a continuous vicious cycle that trap African-Americans and make it difficult for upward social mobility. The purpose of this assignment is to unpack how mass incarceration in the United States is utilized as a control mechanism to undermine African-American population through political, social, and economic forces. First, this paper will provide a historical background on African-Americans in the context of slavery and discriminatory laws in the United States. The politics behind mass incarceration and how the “War On Drugs” have contributed to the mass incarceration rates will be analyzed. Second, family lives of African-American communities will be investigated through social lens to understand how they are affected through mass incarceration and the ideology behind living in the “ghetto” will be examined. Third, the role of the economy and its powerful effect and contribution of maintaining and degrading African-Americans will be investigated in relationship to mass incarceration. An exploration of theoretical research using peer-reviewed academic journals will be utilized in order to understand how the three forces function to drive mass incarceration rates.

Example of an annotated bibliography entry:

Ken (1999) argues that the legislation determining status among Aboriginals is another structure that constructs indigenous identity. The consequences of this political identity have been a misrepresentation of many Aboriginals’ legal rights and the meaning of their culture. Since the 1982 Constitution Act, First Nations, Métis and Inuit have been recognized as Aboriginals, which has affirmed their rights, but the act also created the category of “non-status” Indians. This title was given to Aboriginals who married non-native individuals, attended university, or bought land, and meant the exclusion from reserves. Furthermore, the legal and financial role the government plays for status Indians accentuates the division between urban and on-reserve Aboriginals and consequently creates an economically disadvantaged and politically marginalized urban Aboriginal population.
This article is useful as it connects the legal structures in Canada with the identity of the urban Aboriginals. Ken provides me with both a theoretical account and historical evidence of the social and political forces that have constructed urban Aboriginals as a distinctive population.

*Note: this is the first part of the paper (proposal), and there will be a second part of the paper which is the final paper later on, so this paper is for preparing for the final paper.

Describe how the marketing theory concept was applied by the British library.

This paper has two parts. You must fully answer both parts

This is an opportunity to consolidate learning and to apply the marketing topics (concepts and theories) that is learned in two “real world” situations.

Do not have to use external resources, as these textbooks (Marketing Management, 15TH Edition and Ethical Marketing) and other assigned materials should be sufficient. If you choose to engage in further research, feel free to do so – but make sure that you use academically sound sources – absolutely no wiki sites, blogs, etc!!!

Helpful Hints

Answer the questions that are asked. No credit is earned for including what you know about a topic that is tangent to or unrelated to the questions.

Do not use a lot of quotes. Quotes show me you can copy a statement, but it doesn’t reflect that you really understand what is being said. Instead, explain your understanding of the information and communicate how it applies to the question at hand. (Remember that citations are required for paraphrased material as well.)

You have limited space, so make it count. Make your points quickly, offer strong support for your positions and make sure to make the connection between your points and the course material.

Format Requirements

o Save paper as a .doc or .docx (Word) file

o Do not include a cover page or an abstract.

o The running header should be my name (first/last) and the words “Midterm Exam”

• Final paper should be 7-10 pages (double-spaced, using 1″ margins and Times New Roman 12 point font), plus your reference page.

• Paper will have two parts. Format the heading for each part as a first-level heading (see APA resources), and section headings (of each part) as second level headings.

• Citations and a reference page, in APA format, are required – you must cite the article and any other resources that you use (including the text) to complete your paper.

Content Requirements: Part 1

The assigned reading for the Part 1 of the Paper is:

Warnaby, G., & Finney, J. (2005). Creating customer value in the not-for-profit sector: A case study of the British Library. International Journal of Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Marketing, 10(3), 183-195.

In Part 1 of the paper you will identify five different and distinct marketing theories/concepts that has been cover in Marketing Principles, Regulation, and Ethical Issues. Fully describe how and why the British Library applied each of these theories/concepts to improve the organization.

Part 1 of the paper will have an introductory paragraph, followed by five sections.

For each section heading, indicate the marketing topic (theory or concept) you will be presenting, and the chapter from the text in which that topic is discussed. For example, a section heading could be something like this: Target Markets (Chapter 9).

To be clear, you may only select one topic per chapter to apply to the British Library. Beyond that requirement, it is up to you which topics you discuss.

In the text body of the section:

o Describe how the marketing theory/concept was applied/used by the British Library.

o Critique the application: how successful you feel the application was (and why).

o Incorporate marketing models and cite experts, as appropriate, to support your explanations.

Content Requirements: Part 2

The assigned reading for the Part 2 of the paper is accessible by clicking here → Newton (2014). If the hyperlink does not work, you may find the article using the following citation information:

Newton, C. (2014, August 26). This is Uber’s playbook for sabotaging Lyft. The Verge. Retrieved from https://www.theverge.com/2014/8/26/6067663/this-is-ubers-playbook-for-sabotaging-lyft

In Part 2 of the paper, you will complete an ethical analysis of Uber’s decisions/actions. It will have an introduction, four “main body” sections, and a conclusion.

In the introduction:

o Describe the marketing practices reported in the article.

o Identify the stakeholders involved in or affected by these practices.

In each section, applying each of four ethical theories (one theory per section) to analyze and evaluate the ethics of Uber’s decisions/actions:

o Utilitarianism

o Duty-based theory

o Contract-based theory

o Virtue-based ethics

In the conclusion: state your final position regarding Uber’s decisions/actions – are they ethical or unethical?

What facts can you include to prove your point?

Argumentative essays are not about forcing readers to agree with your perspective; they are about convincing readers that your perspective is valid. To do this well, authors incorporate ethos, pathos, and logos(author credibility, emotion, and logic). Besides your own thoughts/experiences, what facts can you include to prove your point? What sources can you include to enhance and enlighten ideas and questions about a topic that you may already have? OPTION 1: Searching for causes. What makes something happen? Is this one of many causes, or a cause that most people aren’t aware of? What should readers do or think after processing what they learned from your essay. OPTION 2: Evaluating. This involves defining what it means to be x or y, then seeing how something specific measures up. what does this evaluation mean? Who is affected, and why does it matter?

5. My tutor feedback
Thank you for your submitting your essay plan for this module. In general this was a very good essay plan which followed a structured and well thought out approach.
1) Introduction Section: Your introduction does introduce your patient, clinical environment and makes reference to some of the background surrounding the decisions in relation to introduction of insulin therapy in patient’s management plan. You clearly state the decision you are focussing on from the onset of the essay – this was good! In general you set the scene well here – well done! You have made reference to confidentiality and anonymity issues. Remember to say they you have set a pseudonym for your selected patient.
At this stage in your plan you intend to provide some brief exploration and discussion of what decision making is, the key concepts involved, and the nurses’ accountability for effective decision making (supported with literature). Again this is good and I would continue with this plan. You should aim to address some of the main policies/protocols/Drivers etc. which underpin your selected decision (remember to review any clinical guidelines such as SIGN which underpin the decsion). You should allocate around 500 words for your introduction section.
2) Main Body: In your main body you have identified appropriate content to explore at this stage. Again this was well considered and researched! This was good and related well to your chosen topic. You can continue to focus on developing this in your summative. Whilst this is appropriate remember and support with literature and to relate these concepts to the decision made and the decision making process which you are focussing on in your essay .
Key concepts which could be developed and explored further within your essay in relation to your identified decision could include:
• Types of decision involved(example systematic decision making)/Clinical Judgement
• Nurses Accountability for nurses decisions
• Cores skills in decision making– critical thinking, communication, evidence based practice/evidence based decision making, Collaboration and team work
• Decision making process/collaborative/shared decision making/Patient Centred Care
• Prioritising decisions in delivering care
• Factors affecting decision making
• Reflective judgement and decision making
• Evaluation of outcome ( I would advise inclusion of this concept in your summative and you have planned to address this)
• You should support your main themes you have selected with that of the literature

It is of course not possible to explore all the key concepts above. These are only included for ideas and guidance. The concepts you choose to focus on within your main body will of course be determined by the selected topic/decision identified in your essay. You should allocate around 2000 words to the main body section of the essay.
3) Conclusion Section: This can be developed as your essay progresses. In your conclusion section you should aim to summarise your findings and learning.
In your conclusion (if not already addressed) It may be a good idea to summarise on the decision making process you have described as well as the actual outcome of the decision made. For example what did you learn from exploring the decision made? What would you do differently? What could be improved?
What would you recommend for future implications for the development of your skills in this area?
You should allocate around 500 words to this section of the essay.
4) Literature & Referencing: You have included a reasonable range of reading and underpinning references to support your discussions at this stage and this was good! You should plan to continue to search the literature and widen the breadth and scope of your underpinning reading and refer to quality sources. You have utilised mostly accurate citation methods – well done! However, whilst you provide wider reading you haven’t actually referred to these sources in-text? As such you can continue to integrate your reading with your essay discussions for your summative submission. Please review your citation methods. Article titles in journals are usually presented in inverted commas and the journal title in italics….Please see your school referencing guide
5) General Guidance for Essay (Provided for all students in the module group)
This essay requires you to identify a recent decision that was made with one of your patients. You are then required to explore the concept and process of decision making, referring throughout to current published evidence from good quality sources to support and critically analyse the decision made and the outcome of that decision.
Keep a clear focus: Don’t lose sight of the fact that this essay is about decision making and the decision making process (in relation to your chosen topic). As such, try to avoid overly narrating the nursing care that was provided for the patient or any adverse events which may have occurred. Again try and avoid simply describing how the patient was cared for. Remember this is not a reflective essay and as such you should be focussing on critically discussing the decision made, the decision making processes and evaluating the effectiveness of the decision.
Improving Critical Writing: Try to use and refer to multiple authors who share /support similar viewpoints and perspectives to that which you are discussing. Using multiple authors who “support” viewpoints and perspectives from the literature helps evidence wider reading and a more critical approach to writing.
Similarly, try to refer to multiple authors who challenge/disagree/refute/ or provide alternative viewpoints and perspectives to the points which you are discussing. Again using authors who refute or challenge viewpoints helps you to “compare & contrast” views from the literature more effectively.
Referencing and Reading: I would advise that you include key module reading within your essay and develop this by exploring the literature further.
Please ensure you read widely and source good quality literature to support your essay/discussions/content and adhere to the school referencing guide when developing your summative essay.
References by Harvard style and most of the references should be from UK base and recent and related to the field.

Write a narrative and causal argument looking at an incident of recent conflict detailed in the news(perhaps in Iraq or Afghanistan or Pakistan or Somalia or Palestine, among other places), explain the conflict and then try to situate the conflict in its cultural and historical context.

Essay 3 Draft
Essay 3
This essay is a narrative/causal argument. This means that you’ll be investigating thecauses of a specific war or conflict in a region of the world, preferably a current one. The paper should be 3-4 pages long, use Times New Roman 12 point font, and be double-spaced. The paper must include at least three sources, which should be valid college-level sources. Wikipedia is never a valid source for a college level course, nor is the dictionary. If you use them, cite them, but they cannot count as one of the three sources. You must use in-text citations and a works cited page, using MLA style citation. More information on MLA style citation can be found in Good Reasons in chapter 20.
ASSIGNMENT
For this paper, you will write a narrative and/or causal argument. Looking at an incident of recent conflict detailed in the news(perhaps in Iraq or Afghanistan or Pakistan or Somalia or Palestine, among other places), explain the conflict and then try to situate the conflict in its cultural and historical context. Why is this conflict happening? What led to this conflict or what were the causes of this conflict? In this paper, you will look at the causes of a current war or violent conflict in the world and try to explain, using a narrative, how the conflict emerged. The conflict–and its causes–should be specific.
You will need additional sources (2-4) to write this paper. Be sure to use MLA style citation both in-text and in a works cited page.
