Domestic: Due to temperature in Bangkok are fairly hot and humid, therefore, Air conditioning is needed everywhere. Domestic garbage burning , open cooking, Gas and electric cooking and charcoal are domestic use.
Rural : There are three main major causes of air pollution are vehicular emission in the cities, burning from agriculture burning or bush fire and industrialize zones. Air pollution is one of the major issues in Bangkok. Approximately, 50,000 premature deaths yearly due to air pollution (World Bank, cited in Buakamsri, 2016).
Transport: The major source of air pollution in Bangkok is the buses, taxi and private vehicles which belched out diesel smoke, a big cloud of pollution rose when the traffic light turn green and takes a few minutes to disappear. Thai government encourage commercial vehicles using natural gas as natural gas is more commercial than diesel. Water transport is the alternative transport by the small canal which is still being used and serves 27 stops for over 50,000 passengers daily. One problem of this water transport is the dirty water where their many residential and commercial along the side of canal. Many garbage or waste were drop in the water casing water polluted. Therefore, the government is undergoing for the Waste water treatment and cleaning up the canal are sustainable solution.
Industry: Water pollution, exposure to toxins and heavy metals in water causes skin disease, liver cancer, and birth defects. the government emphasized reducing congestion in the city and placed a high priority on locating industrial parks on the fringes of Bangkok.
Geography: Bangkok city is covers an area of 1,568.737 square kilometres. The area is flat and low-lying surrounding the built city and the River basin (Chao Phraya River) about 25 miles (40 km) from the Gulf of Thailand. It is suitable for agriculture, the urban city and the roads began to be built up along the side of the river and many canals have been filled in or paved over. Due to the geography of the city and rapid urbanization resulting to inadequate drainage and causing flood risk (Geography of Bangkok, 2013)
Regulation/policy. The pollution in Bangkok city has been remarkably as a major concern, the current government policies is only focuses the car usage on a purification of gas emission and reduction of fuel consumption, control of vehicle emission and roadside inspection and traffic management. (Srisurapanon & Wanichapun, n.d.).
Topography: The city surrounding with the river and swampland with a flat lower layer land. No mountain surrounding Bangkok city, there are some green infrastructure.
