This is an ethical question. In your reading for the first 3 weeks of the term, you have covered ethical theories that utilize this (i.e. consequences) as one type of basis for justifying conduct. Is this a valid ethical framework for conducting one’s business and workplace behavior and decisions? Should a different ethical-philosophical approach be the basis? In addressing this question you can certainly bring in examples to illustrate you position. In addition to your book you should be researching this, using scholarly sources.
You are not to simply write about what you “feel” is right according to “conscience” or moral upbringing. Why do you believe a certain approach is correct? Why is it the ethical highground as opposed to another choice of approach? “Because this is my belief” is not an evidence-based best practice.
Respond to the question: Do the ends justify the means? An informed opinion and conclusion is the purpose of this paper. Students will analyze at least one theory of consequence and one theory of duties and rights. The strengths and weaknesses of each theory should be adequately addressed. Finally, the student should present a conclusion on whether the ends justify the means, and support the conclusion with evidence, personal/professional experience, facts and/or analysis.
