Draft-Self Evaluation 2

Draft-Self Evaluation 2

Self-evaluation

People who use technology are faced with the problems that arise when they try to work outside the values and rules of society in general.

Valid

While technology has brought positive outcomes to many people, it has also brought problems to many of these people without them even noticing it.

Valid

Health issues represent, one of the most important concerns related to technology.

Single caused fallacy. Technology does not raise serious health issues. There are more serious issues that are health related to technology like globalization. Therefore, it is a fallacy.

Young people are sitting behind huge screens, playing games for very long time.  This causes their vision to slowly decline.

Ignorance argument fallacy- It is a fallacy because sitting down for a very long time does not necessarily decline vision.

In addition, if someone is working on a computer all day long they could end up the loss of hearing, syndrome of computer vision, E-thrombosis, generalized anxiety disorder, and back problems.

Composition fallacy- This argument is a fallacy because some premises are not true. For example, hearing loss cannot arise from working with a computer for long.

If you are sitting at a desk for long periods of time, you can develop blood clots in your legs.

Argument from silence- This is a fallacy because the premises do not give the real cause of the blood clots.

Young people grow up using the Internet as the number one resource for all their answers or research. Many of those resources are misleading.

Valid

As the market of technology rises, culture tends to decline; knowledge is weakened; and people become lazy with regard to finding the truth or understanding a theory of life.

Valid

Many people who use social networks too much have difficulty having an open conversation with another.  The brain works as human beings train it.

Invalid

As technology advances, our privacy is being chipped away. If it was up to the government, they would plant a microchip in every U.S. citizen to know exactly what they are doing and control them, like mice in a research lab.

Valid

The artificial technology created by man power is now controlling the creator.

Valid

We are being blinded by devices that ease our daily life, and, in return we are trading our lives, souls, and voices.

Valid

Our technology is focused on killing more people, most of them innocent, and destroying the earth.  Our voice has been muted and traded for gadgets that will keep us busy.

Valid

Human beings under estimate the dangers and the dangers will get a head if we do not stop, rethink our steps, and determine what we can do to enhance the positive aspects and decrease the negatives.

Valid

Those fallacies can be avoided by putting premises that are true. The premises that have no evidence should be avoided in the argument so that the fallacies will be avoided. All evidences that lead to a conclusion should be listed rather than listing one or several. Evidence for arguments must be provided.

To make the invalid argument valid, I would state it in another form. For example, many young people who use social network so much have difficulties having a conversation with another, especially when age is a factor.
