Introduction

Leaders must be individual that should have the capability of uniting the followers and bring them together to pursue common goals. They should set examples by allowing employees to engage in the decisions pertaining to recruitment and selection. This helps to enhance cooperation and teamwork which has become pillars of success.
In most of the organization currently, leaders motivate and mobilize their followers towards a common goal for the benefit and success of the entity. Intergroup challenges such as cross national, ethnicity, ethics, religious boundaries pose challenges to intergroup collaborations. Such challenges require a committed leadership to help prevent such disruptive conflicts between groups.
Application to nursing
Selection and recruitment is also very important in nursing. Decisions relating to recruitment and selection in nursing have consequences and therefore should be done with a lot of care and professionalism. Nurses have specialized skills in provision of nursing services. The recruitment and selection process should therefore ensure that competent people are selected. They should also be individuals with good morals and better understanding of ethics in their service delivery (Marquis & Huston, 2012). Some of the consequences for nursing leaders in the recruitment and selection process are failure to attract people that have requisite skills and competences to execute their duties diligently. This therefore affects healthcare service provisions. Benefits of effective nursing leaders in recruitment and selection are that they ensure that competent employees are recruited to offer their health services hence impacting positively on the health care.

Recruitment and selection is key; and organizations have the duty to ensure that this process is given a lot of attention. If the right people that share the vision of an organization are recruited, the organization stands higher chances of succeeding. Leadership is fundamental to ensure that proper decisions concerning recruitment and section are reached. Therefore, in an organization context, collaboration between the leaders and followers become a stepping-stone towards achievement of the organizational goals.
