You have a large farm (2200 acres) and want to maximize the yield from your crops. You have the choice between your standard fertilizer and a new fertilizer that claims to increase the crop yield.
You decide to test the two fertilizers on 15 parcels of land on your farm before committing money to the new fertilizer. You divide the 15 parcels into two portions, planting one half with the old fertilizer and one half with the new fertilizer.
The data set provides the yields (pounds) (see data set in the materials section to the right).
I. Perform a two tailed hypothesis test considering the data as two independent samples (show all six steps) to see if there is a difference in the yields from the parcels.
