The purpose of the school study is to examine two schools (one grade in each school – see fieldwork observations info sheet) through the lens of the readings, videos, class discussions and activities, and fieldwork observations experienced over the course of the semester. The paper is in the form of a letter addressed to ETC (or Extra-Terrestrial Creature) who has come here for a visit. While ETC is supremely intelligent, he/she/it is unfamiliar with the ways of our world, particularly our schooling, which interests ETC greatly. Therefore, you will need to write directly, clearly, specifically, and descriptively so that ETC can fully comprehend what you have written to inform the creatures of his/her/its’ world. Remember, you are writing and addressing your comments directly to ETC.
