Guidelines:
Your paper proposal should show that you’ve already done some background research; that you have a reasonable understanding of the resources addressing that topic (SPECIFIC works, both primary and secondary: not just reference works such as Wikipedia); and that you are ready to conduct ORIGINAL research that takes you deeper than what’s already written. Your background research may take you several hours (if not more): please do not skimp on this process, as doing so will already put you at a disadvantage.
Your paper proposal should use the following format:
Your narrative should comprise c. 2 paragraphs:
Paragraph 1: CLEARLY introduce your topic, and then highlight the conversation that currently exists around a part of this topic that interests you. (Please cite sources here.)
Paragraph 2: Explain how your research paper will characterize and/or add to the conversations that you highlighted in paragraph one. Then present a specific and reasonable research plan to make your contribution meaningful and original.
Bibliography: Please include in your bibliography sources that you’ve already consulted (mark with an asterisk), as well as sources that you plan to consult. Your bibliography must also include at least one interview that you plan to conduct with a person who is central to your question.
