How common was divorce in Augustine’s day?

In preparation for our discussion section, please post a response statement on the Discussion Forum of this course’s Blackboard site. A response statement is a comment, observation, or question that responds to the assigned primary or secondary source readings. Your response statement should deal exclusively with the contents of the texts themselves and not rely on any outside sources. Also, make sure that you cite the page(s) used for your comment, observation, or question. There is no reason for these to be more than two or three sentences long. For example, the following would be fine:

“I noticed that St. Augustine wept at the death of his friend (Confessions p. 120), but later considered it wrong to cry at the death of his mother (p. 310). What changed? Has he contradicted himself?”

But this would be a BAD Example: “How common was divorce in Augustine’s day?”

This response statement is irrelevant because the question has no connection to the material found in the text.
