Management in Context

  1. Access the 4 journal articles listed overleaf (under Initial Sources)
  2. Read the 4 articles
  3. Select 1 journal article (JA1); using the list of references from this, select another journal article (JA2) which will allow the following exploration
  4. Compare these two journal articles (JA1 & JA2)) and produce a commentary under the following headings:
  5. Surprises in Author (year) [JA1] (! between 150 and 200 words)
    • These can be about the research process, the way the article is expressed, the arguments put forward or another issue that you might not have expected or come across in the past. Please comment on any implications of your observations
  6. Surprises in Author (year) [JA2] (! between 150 and 200 words)
    • Again, this might be from one or more of a number of aspects of the article. You may wish to clarify whether issues are a little surprising or a substantial revelation. Please comment on any implications of your observations.
  7. The evidence (! maximum 250 words)
    • This should cover both JA1 and JA2. How have the authors generated evidence for their assertions?
  8. Comparison (!between 500 and 600 words)

This should be a mini essay (with introduction, analysis and conclusion) presenting an argument to say how the two articles are similar and or different; how they connect and or contrast.
