VII. Introduction- Paragraph 1- Open with a broad statement about your subject, explain, thesis, state briefly explain the examples of your topic in a sentence each, then conclude and move the reader to the body (1 paragraph, double spaced, 6-8 sentences, no “ I” or “you” or “we” or “us” or any first person. NO QUOTES HERE).
VIII. Body- Paragraph 2 – Introduce your first example of the topic, explain,, conclude and move the reader to the next paragraph (1 paragraph, 6-8 sentences, no “I” or opinion whatsoever). Paragraph 3- Introduce your second example of the topic, explain, comment, conclude and move the reader to the conclusion (1 paragraph, 6-8 sentences, no “I” or “you” or “us” or “we” or any first person. No opinion whatsoever)
IX. Conclusion- Paragraph 4- Restate the topic, summarize your examples of the topic (same ones discussed in the intro and explained in the body), comment, then provide the reader with closure (1 paragraph, 6-8 sentences, no “I” or “you” or “us” or “we” any first person. No opinion whatsoever. NO QUOTES HERE).
MOVIE PAPER GUIDELINES
1. Be sure to remember that you must come up with a specific topic, not something general, and that you tell me what happens and why. Do not tell me what happens. That is a book report.
2. You must have the topic, author, and story in the title. “Irony in ’The Cobbler” “Disillusion in “One Good Week.’” THE TOPIC MUST BE LISTED IN THE TITLE. THE TOPIC MUST BE LISTED BY NAME IN EACH PARAGRAH (BEFORE THE CITATION IN THE BODY).
3. The papers must be double-spaced throughout so put your spacing on two AND USE TIMES REW ROMAN FONT AT 12 ONLY.
4. Indent 5-7 spaces at the beginning of every paragraph.
5. Write 4 paragraphs only, of 6-8 sentences in length (one paragraph intro, two paragraph body with 1 quote IN EACH BODY PARAGRAPH, one paragraph conclusion). NO QUOTES IN THE INTRO OR CONCLUSION.
