For the final take-home, you will write a 1500-1800 word essay. The assignment is the following:
Each section of our textbook (Philosphy of Religion, 4th edition by Michael Peterson, William Hasker, Bruce Reichenbach, David Basinger) addresses a major issue in philosophy of religion, and the readings for each section offer a variety of perspectives on that issue.
Choosing a topic/issue from among the assigned sections, compare and contrast AT LEAST two readings related to your topic. Note, that readings from a given section sometimes pertain to an issue discussed in another section, so you may wish to choose readings from more than one section.
The goal is to write a clear, coherent and interesting essay on a topic of your choice (within our textbook), which is structured around a GOOD CLAIM (remember, you might arrive at your claim only after you’ve written a first draft). I am also looking for evidence of significant engagement with your chosen topic & readings, and a demonstration of close and careful reading.
