Assignment Task:
As a management consultant you specialise in providing strategic analysis. Your clients are varied including investors, the media and governments. In your report you need to provide focused and concise information so that your clients can use it in their daily operations.
You have been tasked with evaluating statoil and should do so in the following way:

1. Introduce your assignment and explain why you have chosen statoil (10 marks)

2. Using PESTLE rank each of the factors in order of importance; 1 = most important, 2 = second most important and so on. So if you believed economic factors were most important you would put 1 = ECONOMIC etc. You can rank factors as equal, for example 1 = ECONOMIC, 1 = SOCIAL, etc. Explain the reasoning for your rankings. (50 marks)

3. Analyse the limitations of PESTLE. (10 marks)

4. Outline 3 key points which have come out of your analysis? List these in rank order (1 = most important, 2 = second most important and so on). Explain your reasoning. (20 marks)

5. Briefly summarise your work (10 marks)
