Activity 1.8 – Overview: Technical Research Paper Instructions
During this course you are required to submit a comprehensive technical research paper that investigates current applications of an industrial hygiene concept such as exposure assessment, sampling strategies, value strategy, a specific chemical hazard, hierarchy of controls, etc. You will need to submit and finalize your topic by the end of Module 2. In Module 4, you need to turn in a list of at least five references and a summary that you plan to use for your paper. The final draft of your paper is due in Module 8. Your paper must be written in current APA format, contain a minimum of 10 pages, a title page, and reference page. Use at least 5 scholarly references in the preparation of this paper. If you have questions concerning the research paper, you can post your questions in the Discussion Board forum titled: Technical Research Paper Forum.

Topic Selection: You can choose a topic from the list provided above, or if you prefer, choose your own topic. If you choose the latter, you will need approval from your instructor before submitting it in the next module. In Module 2, you are required to submit a topic selection and a written brief overview that describes your intentions for your technical research paper. This portion of the assignment is not graded, but you are required to check on your instructor’s feedback. To do this, after you have submitted your topic for approval and the instructor has had time to review it, go to “My Grades” in the menu on the left and click on your score. A window will open for you to view your instructor’s feedback.
Final Draft: In Module 8, you will use the SafeAssign anti-plagiarism tool to submit your final draft.
