What is one assumption, belief, or conception of human nature that you hold that has been challenged, confirmed, or transformed during the course, and in what ways?

This exam consists of one question that asks you to reflect on and discuss the development of your thinking and knowledge about human nature throughout the entire course. As we have learned, there has been an ongoing debate from the very beginnings of the Western tradition about what it means to be human. I would like you to think back to the very beginning of the course, when we began our exploration of various theories of human nature, and respond to the following question:

1) What is one assumption, belief, or conception of human nature that you hold (or have held) that has been challenged, confirmed, or transformed during the course, and in what ways? With reference to the question above, discuss selected ideas and concepts from at least THREE thinkers we have studied that you think have been the most relevant to or influential on your thinking.
